New Blog "Charlotte Wildlife Photography Group"

This is a new Photo Blog for the New Charlotte Wildlife Photography Group. The CWPG was founded by Brian Hochmuth and is co-organized by Stu Cloninger and myself. If you have any questions about the group or up coming events feel free to contact us. You can also find us on FaceBook.

About the new group:
Charlotte Wildlife Photography Group is a group for photographers of all skill levels based in the Charlotte, NC Metropolitan Area (but all are welcome) with events in the counties of Western North Carolina and beyond. The wildlife will range from native species in their natural settings to non-native species that are in wildlife sanctuaries or zoos and all animals will be treated with the utmost respect with safety and non-exploitation in mind. The primary goal is to support organizations that care for animals in these facilities. Furthermore if requested to provide images from outings to help promote their organization and cause when requested members may do so if desired. The idea of "Conservation Photography" is providing images to organizations that help educate and raise awareness about conservation and environmental issues.
While “Conservation Photography” will be the primary goal, the group will also work to advance the photography skills of all members with technical and artistic discussions via meetings and forums. Members will get out of this group only as much as they put into it.

The group was formed on February 1, 2011 and we already have over 50 members. Yesterday was CWPG's first official event. About 20 members met at Suzie's Pride in Rockwell, NC for a day of photographing Bill and Charlotte Cook's Big Cat's. Many great photo and memories were captured.

CWPG's next event will be on May 21, 2011. The CWPG will be heading to the Carolina Raptor Center for a Private photo shoot.

On March 13th and 19th CWPG will visit Suzie's Pride.
